Lee Hae-in (Korea University) and Kim Chae-yeon (Gyeonggi General) won two women's singles in figure skating at the 2026 Milan-Cortina D'Ampezzo Winter Olympics.

Kim Chae-yeon scored 65.37 points in TES, 63.12 points in PCS, and 128.49 points in total in free skating. She tied the short program score (65.67 points) to rank 10th with a total score of 194.16.

According to Lee Hae-in and Kim Chae-yeon's performances, two Korean women's singles will be allowed to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics. At this year's World Championships, national quotas for each Winter Olympics are distributed. If the sum of the top two players is 13 or less, they will receive three, and if the sum of their rankings is 28 or less, they will receive two. While Yoon Ah-sun (Surigo) failed to advance to the free skating competition, Lee Hae-in and Kim Chae-yeon's ranking is 19, and South Korea has acquired two quotas. The national Winter Olympics competition is scheduled for around December.
Lee Hae-jin had a shaky landing in the first project, the triple lute. He failed to perform the triple toe loop combination jump as scheduled. He added a triple toe loop in the latter part of the jump task, which carries 10 percent extra points, in which he could not run before the triple lute alone jump. However, his performance score (GOE) was cut by 2.11 points by the judgment of underrotated (when the number of turns of the jump is less than 90 degrees or more and less than 180 degrees). In the subsequent triple flip-double axel sequence jump, he lost the score as the previous jump was judged to be underrotated.

Kim finished the early jump without much difficulty, but in the latter half, she landed on the ice while shaking her landing gear. As a result, she was judged to be downgraded (when the number of jumps is less than 180 degrees), and lost 1.05 GOE points. In the triple flip-double toe loop combination jump, quarter landing (when the number of jumps is less than 90 degrees) was also pointed out in the preceding jump.

The winner was Alyssa Liu of the U.S., who scored 222.97 points. Sakamoto Kaori of Japan won the silver medal with 217.98 points. She failed to win the fourth consecutive gold medal. Chiba Monet of Japan (215.24 points) came in third.

Meanwhile, Lim Hae-na and Kwon Ye-jo scored 40.83 points in technical (TES) and 31.21 points in artistic (PCS) in rhythmic ice dance, with a total of 72.04. The two ranked 16th out of 36 teams, and successfully advanced to free dance, where the top 20 teams advance. Free dance, which determines the final result, will take place on early Saturday. In this competition, 19 out of 24 tickets for figure skating ice dance at the 2026 Winter Olympics are up for grabs.
